After the previous DKM, WSK, WCR races, where the priority was to finish the race in the top ten, because we were running a new category – we finally succeeded! And at the Třinec steel ring we were at the top of the starting field. It definitely helped us and it was obvious that we tested this circuit before the race and we did a lot of laps, both on dry and wet surfaces.
It was nice to watch the beautiful battles from the first practice sessions and you could see that Max was really enjoying it!
Practice and atmosphere
We came to Třinec to win and it looked pretty promising in practice! Max was up to fifth place and the mood in the paddock was positive.
It rained occasionally, but otherwise the weather was warm and the atmosphere between the drivers was friendly… that until qualifying came along, because the friendship stays in the paddock.
Official practices
It was clear from the official practice sessions that there would be a battle for the top positions and that Max was a force to be reckoned with there.
The proof was the very fast lap times compared to the other competitors. The communication with the mechanic about the set-up went amazing. Everything worked according to plan and expectations!
In the end, the race ended in third place due to a collision between two drivers that slowed Max down and then he had to catch up and fight until the last laps.
We were very happy for the third place, but we will win at the next race in Vysoké Mýto! And we are already focusing on the next DKM race, where we will gain more valuable experience.
