OK Junior Max Karhan 353 MS Kart. A race that was not planned and was added to the calendar at the last minute

It took place on the track in Lonato, Italy

Max’s mechanic was now the fresh national champion Jakub Talaš and Ivan Čermák, because the mechanic Lukáš Kvasňa arrived only on Tuesday evening.

Wednesday and Thursday were marked by setting up the racing equipment. WSK races are high level races, where the best teams and factories from all over the world come together. The weather was changeable, which made it possible to test on a dry and wet track.

In the OK Junior class, in which Max drives, 63 drivers entered the race. There were even a couple of colleagues from the Czech Republic entered, including Max’s teammate David Gorčica, whose mechanic is the veteran racer František Marhoul.

Friday was marked by official timed practice sessions. Then timed practice and qualifying series of heat races Eliminator Heat A, B, C, D, E, F. Max settled in 45th place after Friday and was assigned to group C.

For mechanics Jakub Talaš and Ivan Čermák it was a tough job.

On Saturday the Eliminator Heat of groups A, B, C, D, F was run.This time Max drove a total of three more times and on Saturday night he settled in 46th place overall.

Sunday started with the morning warm-up, which was divided into two groups of 30 riders. Here Max set a time of 27 and then the pre-final shootout to qualify for the final. In this shootout Max finished in 19th place, but unfortunately it was not enough to start the final, where after all the totals he was 11 penalty points behind. Overall, he settled in 44th place.

Great experience and four days of great racing full of fights, healthy nerves and pain turned out great in the end and we are very happy about it. Thanks to the mechanics, partners and everyone else around. Thanks to you, Max was able to show off his skills and gain a lot more experience at this race. And as the icing on the cake after the race weekend, we had a big OK test, thanks to Mark Skřivan and his Praga kart.

Of course, we thank him very much for that, because it was another great experience for Max. And since he has already tested a bit of a different technique with Marek in the form of Formula 4, we think that Max will test both OK and F4 before the end of the year.
