Start of the new F4 CEZ season on the new FIA Balaton Park circuit.

The start of the new F4 CEZ season was held on the beautiful new FIA homologated circuit Balaton Park. Max Karhan started the season in the Tatuus Abarth 1.4 Turbo with an excellent fifth place out of fourteen drivers from different parts of Europe and the organiser promises that the field will grow even further.

Max Karhan continues after last year’s experience in the F4 CEZ series promoted by Mr. Křenek and once again is racing with the blue monopost of the Jenzer Motorsport team, with which was maximum satisfaction with last season and this year the Jenzer Motorsport team will deploy together with Max a total of 5 Tatuus T421 Abarth 1,4T cars.

Max’s view

Max entered the first race with enthusiasm, expecting thrilling and clean battles on the track. This expectation was fully translated into reality as he enjoyed great racing in all three races. Max put in an outstanding performance and fought for every position with a passion.

The biggest rival for Max was Miroslav Mikeš, with whom he fought exciting duels in every race. What he enjoyed most about these fights were his two victorious duels over Mikeš. Max is very positive about his first race and is proud of his performance and his duels with Mikeš.

Max expressed his satisfaction with the way the races went. He was able to keep up with the faster drivers, overtake and even after the safety car he was able to keep his tyres at the ideal temperature, which helped him in the following restart. Driving behind the safety car helped him keep his chances of a good finish.

The new Balaton Park track with FIA homologation impressed Max. He appreciated the fast chicanes, although he found some of the corners a little too slow. He sees the track as specific and interesting and is looking forward to the next races where he will be able to improve his performance on this new circuit.

Last year’s series champion Ethan Ischer returned to Balaton as Max’s opponent, but the FIA rules are strict, so as a former champion he could have won, but he simply wasn’t allowed to claim championship points. Besides Max, there were 4 other drivers in the Jenzer Motorsport team, including Ethan Ischer, Shim Zhang, Adria Kostic and Oscar Wurz.

The Jenzer Motorsport team dominated the races at Balaton Park and Max took home a nice fifth place in the overall F4 CEZ Championship classification, which is definitely an important factor for the start of the new season. In the Czech drivers‘ standings he is second, only Miroslav Mikeš was better.

Max achieved his best result in the three races in the second race, where he took a nice fourth place, beating not only Miroslav Mikeš, but also Romanian Luca Sava and Marek Mičík.

Max and the Jenzer Motorsport team are already looking forward to the second race of the CEZ F4 Championship season, which will take place at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, and we will be looking forward to the results of our driver again on 18-19 May.
