The next German DKM race was held at the Mülsen kart track, where Max and his team arrived on Thursday afternoon.
Friday’s free practices
On Friday we adjusted the technique and Max to the actual track conditions, which were a little different than the test 14 days ago. A rubber on the track, a new frame, a new overall and a slightly bruised Max after the weekend track at Klinovec… It was a challenge and an anticipation of how he would perform compared to his rivals.
It didn’t turn out so good, he was 0,8 seconds behind the fastest driver. Max commented that it was OK, because the races are on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday
According to the organizers, Saturday was planned as follows: morning free practice, then timed practice and first and second race.
In the timed practice, Max’s run didn’t go well and he ended up 15th. He finished the first race in 12th place. The second race was announced as a wet race, but unfortunately the track dried out within three laps. As a result, Max fought to survive and finished in 13th place.
Sunday
Sunday started with a morning warm-up where the drivers tested their equipment after Saturday. Everything worked well for us and Max was looking forward to starting the first race on Sunday, where after all the totals he started from 15th place. A great start got him up to 8th place, but his opponents weren’t going to let him get away with it and after some great battles he eventually finished 15th.
Into the second race (starting from the same position), a very good start followed again and the go-kart finally started to work. The new chassis needed to be set in motion, and unfortunately the finishing position was again 15th…
Max was leaving and said: „I will not accept this weekend and I hope to fix my mood next week in Vysoké Mýto at the Czech Championship.“
