Free practices
Max and his OK junior MS Kart equipment, which is from Prachatice, arrived at the paddock on Wednesday evening for Thursday and Friday testing before the race weekend. Max has done a lot of races on his home track in previous years and this track is one of his favourites. Thursday and Friday’s practice sessions and tech setup for this track were quite challenging for both the driver and mechanics.
Official race and practice
Saturday’s official practice put Max in tenth place. A timed practice session followed, which Max completed with a time of 49.552 for tenth place.
The start of the first final run was thus from the fifth row on the left. Max finished the race in 5th place, having passed several competitors and several not finishing ahead of him after collisions.
Sunday’s race
Sunday’s race day started with a morning warm-up to test the technique after Saturday’s race.
The start for the second final run was again from tenth place, but this time on the right. On the second lap the race turned into a survival one.
Max damaged his right front rim during contact with his opponent and drove on a soft tyre… He finished the race in twelfth place and to make things worse he was penalised for cutting the racing line.
He ended up starting the superfinal from eighth on the grid after the totals, and from the fourth row on the left.
After some great battles he finished the race in sixth place!
Conclusion
Very satisfied with the excellent work of the mechanics! And many more experiences plus great support from the fans who came to Písek to support Max. Big thanks to everyone!
