Max Karhan will be another young go kart racer, who will take part in F4 CEZ championship. The Czech driver will premiere in the next race at Autodrom Most in the car of team JMT Racing Engineering.

Autodrom Most has a special meaning to Max Karhan

Last year he tested the F4 car for the first time – an old generation, and this August he will undergo his race debut in the F4 CEZ series. The deal with JMT Racing Engineering will be his first step as he moves from karting to big circuits.

“I couldn’t have wished for a better place to debut,” Karhan commented the Most autodrom. “Out of the Czech circuits, this one is the most fun for me. I know it very well, because I have tested here already,” Karhan, who prepares even on a simulator, continued.

Given that this is his first racing experience with Formula 4, he doesn’t set a concrete target. It’s important to do the best job possible. “The goal is to not have any regrets after the weekend. To know that I have given everything and shown what I’m capable of,” Max Karhan remarked. His father and owner of the racing team Luka Motorsport and sports car workshop  Lukáš Karhan agrees. “We warned Max not to expect to be fast immediately. Above all it’s about gaining experience not just on track, but out of the cockpit, where the engineer downloads his telemetry and they will go over everything,” the proud father said.

Lukáš Karhan has a lot of experience in motorsport. He worked as a Corvette mechanic for Callaway Competition in the ADAC GT Masters championship, so it’s clear the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

“Luka Motorsport actually came to be when Max was born. I didn’t want to spend every weekend racing anymore, so I started the company with a vision that if Max ever raced, we would be prepared in some way. Of course, it all comes down to partners, without whom Max’s career would not be possible. So we’ll see how well Max does in Most and ho he feels in this new world. Then we will evaluate everything and see. There are ambitions, depends on all the possibilities,” Lukáš Karhan explained.

There certainly are ambitions. When asked what he would like to achieve, Max replied, “I would like to do endurance racing, things like 24h of Nürburgring or Le Mans really appeal to me.”

However, there is still a long way to go to reach this career goal and, in addition to preparing for his F4 CEZ debut, Max Karhan is also intensely focused on karting in the prestigious WSK series in the European Championship and the World Championship awaits him.
